Katherine is a practicing artist, currently based between London and East Kent in the UK. She has a strong interest in community art, as well as themes of nature, line and body in her own work. She is the co-creator of The Body Room, an ongoing social art project.

She has an unconventional background, but has fostered a serious art practice and is excited to connect with others as she continues to develop her practice.

She started this blog in 2018 to document her emerging art practice, while living and working in Valencia, Spain. To date she has written north of 80 thousand words on various art-related topics! In particular she is passionate about self-education and self-directed study, although ironically somewhat obsessed with what everyone else studied at art school.

She holds a first class degree in Economics, Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick.

PS. Why, ‘Away From the Grain’? Well it’s my personal creative philosophy. I’m not trying to go against the grain of life, but I think it is important to step back, look up, and choose your own direction.
